What is a health assessment?

When you come into care you will have a health assessment. You will then have one every year whilst you are in care. They are nothing to be scared about, a doctor or nurse will meet with you, measure your height, weight, etc. and discuss your health with you.

This is done to make sure you are healthy and that you are getting any medication or treatment that you need to have. You will also be supported to go to the dentist and have your eyes tested regularly. If you are feeling nervous about your health assessment you can take your carer if you want.

Embrace - Wolverhampton Sexual Health Service

Embrace, Wolverhampton’s Sexual Health Service, provides a free and confidential sexual health service in Wolverhampton, including all types of contraception. This includes emergency contraception, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), sexual health information and advice, and HIV care.

The service is confidential, non-judgmental and for people of all ages, genders and orientations.

Everyone is welcome, and you don’t need to see a GP first.
